Meet The Designer

Based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kate Rant is a multidisciplinary designer who embraces the art of experimentation and exquisite craftsmanship across both physical and digital mediums. Kate approaches every project with passionate, creative energy. Her energetic outlook and memorable aesthetic touch lead towards delivering designs with enormous panache. She is an avid believer in sustainable fashion practices and apparel culture. Kate holds both an undergraduate and graduate degree from North Carolina State University in Art & Design. Her undergraduate concentration was fashion + fibers, while her graduate concentration was experimental new media arts. Kate’s graduate thesis investigated and envisioned the democratization of fashion storytelling through an interactive 3d interface. It was during this research she discovered her love for patternmaking and costume creation could be 3D modeled. This drove her to seek out a position in the field of CG. Kate Rant currently works as a Cloth FX Artist for Spree3d. If she’s not learning something new, sewing or doodling print design ideas, she’s out exploring a greenway where she likes to walk out her thoughts. Kate’s favorite motto “Any creative medium is a tool used in service of a story.”
